Yes, I've ended my work on last fri. Actually, the plan to 'resign' earlier was unexpected but the workload is taking a toll on me. So I told my manager in advance that I will be quitting at the end of june instead of mid july. Obviously, her being the manager, she was a lil unhappy. I don't wish to spread my own opinion about her personality so I shall shut that information out.
On Sunday, one day after I've quitted my job, I received a morning phonecall from my assist manager to ask if I could help her out today. I realised my other colleagues' attendance was disastrous after I left. My fav colleague tendered her resignation 1 mth earlier on fri, and did not turn up on sunday coz of her eye infection. My other colleague did not turned up for work coz she wanted to quit her job last min. But all along, I knew where the mistake lies. So this didn't turn out surprising, just that I thought it was going too fast. I decided to help out on a Sunday in the end, working with my assist manager and a new part-time colleague.
Today, one day after the helping out, I received a morning phonecall from my assist manager again. She's working alone coz my colleague's eye infection is not fully recovered. I rejected her coz I have to attend a talk later on. Later, she called again to ask me to standby these few days. I told her I have a meeting tml. She understood that I will be busy these few days, so she said sorry for waking me up twice and put down the phone.
3 times after I've quitted my job, I got woken up by job calls. Who likes to get woken up by phonecalls? And it's not that I do not want to help, I have appointments. And seriously, helping out once in a while is ok, but not continuously after I've quitted my job! I understand your plight, but do you understand your employees' plight? Why did it turn out that there is this sudden plunge in attendance? Can you see what is going wrong?
The answer's clear and obvious. I hope the manager realises it soon.
