One Minute of Silence

It's hard not to think that this month is the 7th month. I shouldn't even be talking about this, because following the tradition, the younger generations are taught to keep silent about it. Don't turn behind, don't stay out late at night and many more. It's been troubling me that I have already heard and read about reports of a number of deaths lately. I questioned my mom why is this so and she replied, "Shhh. Don't talk about this. Don't you know they need to find replacements?"

"But you didn't tell me about this before."
"That's what your grandma told us. Shhh. Don't talk about this. Just don't come back so late often."

That evening, on the way to a class bbq, I almost got knocked down by a motorbike.

I'm awfully disturbed.
Perhaps I shouldn't even have talked about this.
Knowing and keeping silent is right.
But is not knowing and trying to find out what happened means it's wrong?

What's Going On?

School has been keeping me v busy lately. Had to wake up from the post-holiday mood and settle down with the new semester.

Firstly, my finalised modules this semester:

HL213 British-Asian Literature
HL222 South-Asian Literature
HL311 Science Fiction
HMF2 French Level 2
CBC811 Forensic Science
AAI183 Orchestration & Arranging

AAI183 will be the start of something new since it's a NIE module. Refreshing, hopefully. haha.

Was anxious about the subject registration coz AAI183 was in a different course code (AAI202) which is not found in STARS during add/drop period. So i emailed Dr Tang but he didn't reply. Apparently, he only replied me today since he just came back from a Hanoi band performance telling me I emailed his old email address. Oddly, it was him who gave the class his email address last week. So i started to get worried when there was no reply by him and i emailed Dr Eugene asking him to help aid in my registration for AAI202/AAI183 (whichever course code was it then). He asked if Dr Tang has replied and I said no. Then he asked to submit my music resume and I sent him through email. Then again he asked to send him the relevant documentation while awaiting for news. Wa. bth. By this time, Dr Tang has replied me. And there is the confirmation that I'm in AAI183. So still need to hand in documentation not?? I'm so lazy to scan lar.

There's also been plenty of readings to be done for my core modules. And a level 2 in language means i have to work even harder. There's so much french hw this sem instead of the 1 pg 1 part questions. Forensic's interesting although i admit i fell asleep whenever Dr Bates talked about atoms and molecules. But besides that, I listen to what he's saying! hear that, audrie?! I don't just daydream in lects! haha. ahhh. den Orchestration is a whole new thing about composing. There'll be a presentation next week already and Week 5 i got to present on the thickest book in South-Asian lit. Well done. I don't know why did i choose to present on the book without seeing its thickness. haha. maybe coz the novel's written by one of my favourite authors.

[Huiying! Let's speculate whether Bede will wear Fred Perry polo tee next monday. I vote for a yes. Loser will do whatever winner says. HA!!!]

Anw, I'll be teaching part-time in a new music school this starting September coz I only have one freaking 2hr lecture on mons and one language tutorial on thurs. Obviously, I cannot skip both. So teaching is it in order to spend my time well in the west area! Will be teaching at Ulu Pandan Rd. Sylvia the director called me a wk ago and handed me a Grade 6 student. -____- Feeling a lil jittery even b4 teaching coz i was teaching beginners all along. And Sylvia said the student's taking grade 5 theory in november. goodness gracious. PLEASE BLESS ME!!!

I have also packed my room a little (at least the extremely messy desk) so i get a conducive environment to study instead of putting my books on the iron board. yes it's that pathetic! haha. So now my desk's awfully clean with just a couple of books and laptop on it. I like!

On a side note, I just visited the dentist. in 3 yrs. haha. to do scaling and polishing. Having heard the high-pitched drillings while waiting was nauseating. During the wait, i was looking at posters of gum diseases, listening to the horrific drillings and i was reminded of the times during primary & secondary school when i was always forced to go to the dentist. Scaling was forever dreadful. The school dentists i had always wanted me to visit them again. But today, i have to give myself a good pat coz either the dentist's superbly caring or i've grown out of the 'runaway from dentists' stage. No cavities, said the dentist. I was soooooooo happy coz my next visit is 6 months instead of the usual "Come and visit me 2 wks later!!" And i had free Colgate la. How not to be happy! (:

*to shimin: i havent forgotten your tag! will do it soon. haha. and sorry bout the long awaited goods, it's been killing me as well. will check everyday for updates and contact u when ours arrive. (:*

Journey To The West

School starts tml!!! Yes i've always been looking forward to school! But now it's less than 12hrs and i am starting to have mixed feelings! Just now when i was in the kitchen, i felt the feeling i had whenever school is about to reopen. The knowledge of having to wake up 6am in the morning, meet new ppl, new timetable, new classrooms...this strangeness hits me again and again.

But somehow, this time, it's a little different. I am sooooooooooooo glad i don't have to wake up at 6am anymore!!! The school's much much bigger, and the eager to go back to school is stronger even though it's at one end of s'pore. It's like fun and excitement, coz i know i have frens taking all the same mods as me. but boon lay...seriously, i wish boon lay station is beside boon keng station. HAHAHA. i know. i must wake up from my wishful thinking. i just wish the hall will grant me a room soon.

Alright. It's a brand new semester with new visions and wishes..so work & play hard! (:

Homer at 2a.m.

This entry is supposed to be posted last wk...I caught 'The Simpsons' at an ungodly hour!!!

Coz I couldnt bear to eat popcorns at that very hour, i went to selegie and ate tau hway instead!!! (:

And, the grand cathay at The Cathay was GORGEOUS. shockingly grand! Makes the 2a.m. movie even more worthwhile!! hahaha. It's a hugeeeeeeeeee stage! And seriously, I was expecting the Simpsons mascots to enter the stage from the side door curtains to welcome us!!! hahaha!!! it was simply fabulous la. The seats were extremely spacious too! Normal pricing tickets at an abnormal hour for a wondrous theatre. Goodness!

TA DAAA~

The movie was hilarious! Lame & funny. yes there's both, probably because it was 2a.m. and i needed sleep...so i really couldn't laugh at some jokes. Of coz there's a touch of sentimental value to the story, but clearly, the jokes overpower it. So all ended good! No soft-hearted emotions...Just pure laughing coz i was already half-dead at 2a.m.

4 popcorns for being able to make me laugh when i'm half-asleep. and 4.5 popcorns for the pleasant surprise, view and comfort. (:

Give Me (Healthy) Gum

Kbox session was rocking good with Ifrit! 5 to nearly 6 hrs of singing...wa best la. And I was singing with a part of my swollen gum. That part of the gum is still effing painful la. It's like the size of one skittle, just like a sweet, but it stays there not moving! dammit. how many days of drinking saltwater just to cure it but it just doesn't go away! =(

just becoz of 1 mac meal and 2 kosongs the next day gave me this swell. maybe it just boils down to heaven's advice that i should stop eating oily stuff and keep my weight in check. haha. alright la alright. i am doing my duty now, will you pls give me my healthy gum back?

Mistake

u know, when everyone around tells u that u're embarking on the same journey which will not have a happy ending, that's when u know u're crushed.

the 'best' thing is, your buddy tells you that you will go on this journey once again, but you will still fail it. all because his sixth sense is highly accurate and is proven time and time again.

totally not helping at all.

so should u be happy, and then get stamped in the face...or should u just live life on ur own?

live life just like how it used to be, when u were a child. Alone, and perhaps happy?
