I NEED A SHOULDER.

This excerpt below totally cheered me up on what happened earlier, and gave me the courage to move on. Being consoled and encouraged is definitely one of life's greatest pleasures.

In Shakespeare's King Richard II Act 1.4,
John of Gaunt to his son Bolingbroke:

All places that the eye of heaven visits
Are to a wise man ports and happy havens.
Teach they necessity to reason thus;
There is no virtue like necessity.
Think not the King did banish thee,
But thou the King. Woe doth the heavier sit
Where it perceives it is but faintly borne.
Go, say I sent thee forth to purchase honour,
And not the King exiled thee; or suppose
Devouring pestilence hangs in our air
And thou art flying to a fresher clime.
Look what thy soul holds dear, imagine it
To lie that way thou goest, not whence thou com'st.
Suppose the singing birds musicians,
The grass whereon thou tread'st the presence strewed
The flowers fair ladies, and thy steps no more
Than a delightful measure or a dance;
For gnarling sorrow hath less power to bite
The man that mocks at it and sets it light.

Studying can be such a delight at times. Owe you another big time, Shakespeare.

BRING IT ON

I think Lit majors are judged the worst among all undergrads.
Seriously, 1stly ppl think our mother tongue is not up to standard.
2ndly, they perceive that our understanding of the English language is superb so we should not have any single problem understanding what is written down.
All these annoying mother-fucking creatures should be burnt to dust.

I am extremely annoyed by the most senseless statements that these people have assumed.
This evening, a certain biz PROFESSOR had a tutorial session and among all students, there were 4 lit majors in the class. Below are his rudely and loosely used comments targetting at us:
"1) I must use simple words to explain to the English Lit students. [Where's the connection?]
2) C'mon friends [to the whole cls]. The reading should be a breeze for the E.Lit students. [You just killed yourself as opposed to what you said earlier.]
3) How could you answer wrongly using the context? (targetted at my friend) You're an E.Lit student!
4) I'm sorry to picked on you all. But I'm sure the Engineering students will have a much harder time than you guys."

Aren't you a Prof? Shouldn't you act like a Prof? What's with all these assumptions? Any other person I can understand why they're questioning our capabilities, but seriously, a Prof?

You know, he taught us based on a context of "loosely marked words" today, and i think this phrase successfully applied to what he really taught us. Amazing. The other time I remember this Chi undergrad was also bluntly stating that my understanding of the Chi language must be horrid. Yes, of course, not as good as him but he just made me laughed so fucking hard at what he has commented.

They're so full of prejudice and jealousy cause as compared to them, our lives might seem easier cause yes, they've assumed again that we do nothing but read books all day long, and that we don't get as much work and put in constant efforts to keep our grades up, so they think we're 'inferior'. How satirical is this situation? It's so ironic cause they've been saying one thing and another and so on until they've messed up their own statements I don't know what they are really trying to get at.

At the end of the day, if people like the above think they are geniuses, they should just clap proudly for themselves and not throw their own shame around.

They might think "Ha! There goes your self-esteem!" cause truly, sometimes some people are just that evil and shameless, but really I think it benefits me a lot. Thank you for all that pressure and spits at me.

You, on the other hand, mark your words. If not, just go study 'Mastering Communication' for your own sake.

I will mark you down.

Memories

Tonight, is the night in which I realised things don't always start out really well for every new year. Nothing serious happened, just a little hiccups here and there. So I'm reminded of life's repeated mistakes.

Sometimes when I want to revisit my memories, I force myself to enter my memory lane despite its painfulness. Of course, there are the good ones. But tonight I touched on the ill ones. It hurts so much so that I cried and shuddered, and assured myself that I'm not in that plight again.

I miss the past. The times when I feel alive, giving out the most of my feelings. Now even when I feel alive crying, all the hurt I once had reminded me to put on a facade to protect myself.

These are times when I need to be reminded of my memories. So tonight is one of the nights.

And I still love the present.
